In order to meet the requirements of the ST 404 course in the Mechatronics Engineering curriculum of Izmir University of Economics, students do internships in a company where they can participate in Mechatronics Engineering studies for 20 working days. The following criteria determine the eligibility of companies for internship:
1. Engineering Staff
Competent engineers should be working in companies where students can do internships. Candidate companies must meet at least one of the following personnel employment criteria:
Companies that do not employ at least one of the above-mentioned engineers full-time are not eligible for internships.
2. Performed Works
Firms that do not include mechanical design or hardware, but only software development will not be accepted. During the internship, it is necessary to work on mechanical design and/or electronic design. Software projects on PLC or Microprocessor or computer-controlled systems that require interaction with mechanical, and electronic hardware are acceptable.
